Driver coercion and harassment are still very common across the transportation industry. It’s so much of an issue that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) released the Prohibiting Coercion of Commercial Vehicle Drivers (Coercion Rule) in January 2016. We are 18 months out from the effective date of the ELD mandate when most commercial drivers in the United States are going to be require to use an electronic logging device to create their driver logs. While this may sound like a lot of time it is becoming more and more important that fleets start to earnestly plan what their transition plan will be.
