Waiting is the hardest part. Particularly when it comes to the FMCSA’s ELD mandate. We are expecting to hear from the FMCSA about the mandate within the next couple weeks but until then everyone just has to keep waiting.
Concern about the upcoming ELD mandate has continued to grow over the last few months. Questions about what is going to happen have only increased since the FMCSA pushed back the mandate publishing date from September 30th to late October.

We recently hosted a webinar to help you better understand the rules and how they impact your impact the day-to-day operations.
There are over 200 solution providers listed on the FMCSA’s self-certification list. In an effort to find an affordable solution before the December 18, 2017 deadline, many drivers and fleets rushed into purchasing an electronic logging device (ELD). Many of these solutions turned out to be unreliable and non-compliant, or there has been no support from the provider to help the company use their overly-complicated devices.

Watch this webinar recap to learn about these differences, as well as some proposed changes to the HOS rules and regulations that have come as a result of the ELD mandate.
In December, the FMCSA announced they were considering updating personal conveyance guidance in light of concerns stemming from the electronic logging device (ELD) mandate. The original guidance was published in 1997 and has not been updated since. Following the announcement, the FMCSA opened a 30-day comment period that has since been extended to February 20, 2018.
