BigRoad in America’s Best Mannered City

robert_midwestWe are really starting to rack up the miles on the BigRoad pickup truck. After our stop in New Orleans, it’s been slowly winding its way back up north. The truck has made stops in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Houston, Dallas, Tulsa, Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Green Bay, Chicago and Peoria.

We stopped over in Peoria for the Mid-West Truck and Trailer Show, which was held February 6th and 7th. It was fantastic to once again be a part of this event. Not only were we exhibiting again, but this time we also presented two seminars about electronic logging.

Canadian Companies in the Top 20 Best Fleets to Work For

tca-logo-blogOn January 30th the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) along with online driver training company, CarriersEdge, released their annual list of the Best Fleets to Drive For. The list, in it’s seventh year, recognizes those companies that provide their employees an outstanding place to work.

To make the list, companies have to be nominated by a driver or owner operator that works for them and they must have 10 or more trucks in their fleet. Once nominated, these companies are scored on a many different criteria taking  any aspects of their business into consideration. These include such things as salaries, health benefits, career advancement, driver turnover, fleet safety score as well as a slew of other factors.

Will BigRoad Play in Peoria? The Mid-West Truck and Trailer Show

mid-west-truck-assoc-logoWe are already off to a flying start this year with the UMA Motorcoach Expo last week and the launch of DashLink the week before that. There’s barely been a chance to catch our breath and nurse our swollen feet as we pack up again and head to Peoria, Illinois for the Mid-West Truck and Trailer Sow.

The Mid-West Trucking Association first held the Mid-West Truck Show in 1962. Over the course of 50 years, it has become one of the premier shows to see the latest products and innovations in trucking. It’s a great opportunity to meet manufacturers as well keep up-to-date with the many educational seminars.

ELD Gumbo – What We Learned in New Orleans

BigRoad's Marcia and Lee at UMA Motorcoach EXPO 2015Last week, we traveled down to New Orleans for the UMA Motorcoach Expo and BigRoad’s first trade show of 2015.

The United Motorcoach Association is the largest association of professional bus and motorcoach companies in North America and it sure knows how to put on a great trade show! The UMA Motorcoach Expo is run in conjunction with the NTA Convention. This combined event is a must for anyone involved with motorcoaches from body shops right through to regional tourism boards.

Let the Good Times Roll! – BigRoad at the UMA Motorcoach Expo 2015

UMA-logoIt’s an early Mardi Gras for BigRoad as we head to N’awlins for the UMA Motorcoach Expo. This year’s Expo is being held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in the fantastic city of New Orleans, Louisiana from January 18-22.

The United Motorcoach Association is the largest industry association for motorcoach in North America. It is comprised of more than 900 privately-owned professional bus and motorcoach companies which are predominantly charter or tour operators.
