Last week, we traveled down to New Orleans for the UMA Motorcoach Expo and BigRoad’s first trade show of 2015.
The United Motorcoach Association is the largest association of professional bus and motorcoach companies in North America and it sure knows how to put on a great trade show! The UMA Motorcoach Expo is run in conjunction with the NTA Convention. This combined event is a must for anyone involved with motorcoaches from body shops right through to regional tourism boards.
We are already off to a flying start this year with the UMA Motorcoach Expo last week and the launch of DashLink the week before that. There’s barely been a chance to catch our breath and nurse our swollen feet as we pack up again and head to Peoria, Illinois for the Mid-West Truck and Trailer Sow.
The Mid-West Trucking Association first held the Mid-West Truck Show in 1962. Over the course of 50 years, it has become one of the premier shows to see the latest products and innovations in trucking. It’s a great opportunity to meet manufacturers as well keep up-to-date with the many educational seminars.

It’s a pretty exciting time for BigRoad users with Apple devices. We’ve just released our latest version that features a lot of updates to improve your experience as well as some new rule sets and driver exemptions.
First up, we have improved support for full-screen and specific screen layouts on iPad. This means BigRoad will no longer be stretched to fit the screen, but instead it will display at a native iPad resolution.
As BigRoad users are probably already aware Electronic Logs are a perfectly legal alternative to traditional paper logs. However, due to a grey area in the regulations, some drivers may be asked to produce a paper record of their logs during an inspection. We also recommend that a driver have a printer available in their truck in case this happens.
The BigRoad truck is packed and we are ready to hit the road again. This time we’ll be making our way down to Cincinnati, Ohio for the NPTC 2015 Education Management Conference & Exhibition. This is the first time BigRoad has attended the NPTC annual conference. We are very excited to participate and show everyone how we go beyond telematics with the easiest to use Electronic Logging/Compliance solution in the industry.
