Update on COVID-19: Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Program – Temporary Certificates

Following the declaration of a pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus) by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, and with the adoption of temporary measures put in place by provincial authorities, Transport Canada has issued the following temporary TDG certificates pursuant to subsection 31(2.1) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.

Temporary Certificate TU 0750: Training

Temporary Certificate TU 0751: Testing and inspection requirements 

Temporary Certificate TU 0752: Hand sanitizer 

Temporary Certificate TU 0753: Shipping hand sanitizer by air

These temporary certificates took effect on March 27, 2020. They remain in effect until the earliest of:

  • September 30, 2020, or
  • The day it is cancelled in writing by the Minister of Transport
