A freezing cold church full of law enforcement officers – now who would have thought that would be a party!

Well, it was … and BigRoad was honoured to be a part of the fun at the Ontario Police Commercial Vehicle Committee’s (OPCVC) autumn meeting in Barrie, Ontario last week. Close to 100 of Ontario’s finest commercial vehicle safety officers trekked north of Toronto to understand and learn more about electronic logs, their impact on hours of service legislation as well as get a gander at what vendor solutions they might possibly face during a commercial vehicle inspection.

BigRoad Celebrates at the 25th Annual NASTC Conference

The National Association of Small Trucking Companies (NASTC) just celebrated the 25th anniversary of its annual conference last week in Nashville, Tennessee and BigRoad was extremely excited to be a part of the event this year – having been a strong supporter of the association since we became a company back in 2012.

If you are a small trucking company and haven’t heard of NASTC, you should check them out. Led by President David Owen, the NASTC team has been acting as an advocate for small trucking companies since 1989.

BigRoad in Nashville – The NASTC 24th Annual Conference

Once again it was our pleasure to head down to Nashville and be a part of the NASTC Annual Conference. Held downtown, at the beautifully renovated Sheraton Hotel, the NASTC Conference was three very busy days of education, meeting new friends and a little bit of partying. This is the 3rd year BigRoad has attended the NASTC Conference and the 1st year we have sponsored the event.

Coercion, Harassment, and ELDs

Driver coercion and harassment are still very common across the transportation industry. It’s so much of an issue that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) released the Prohibiting Coercion of Commercial Vehicle Drivers (Coercion Rule) in January 2016.
