Lately we’ve been talking a lot about inspections, violations, compliance, regulations, and mandates. All pretty serious stuff! This week, we wanted to break it up and do something a little more fun…like pull together a playlist of our top tunes for truckers! Our list includes new tracks, old classics, country, and rock – something for everyone!

There’s nothing better than rolling down the window of your truck, cranking up your tunes, and driving down the open road (hopefully it’s not full of traffic). We’ve pulled together a list of our favourite “Tunes for Truckers” – give it a listen on Spotify! We’ll keep updating the list through the summer months as we come across new songs.
Here’s a look at 10 of our favorite songs about trucks, trucking, driving, the hardwork that’s involved in trucking – and some feel good songs! **Warning – it’s 90% country music!**
1. I’ve Been Everywhere – Johnny Cash
Have you travelled every road in this here land? “Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota,
Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota, Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma.” – Johnny Cash has!
2. Truck Yeah – Tim McGraw
This was actually one of my favourite songs from a few years ago. “Friday night football, Saturday Last Call, Sunday Hallelujah!”
3. I’m a Road Hammer – The Road Hammers
Hard to believe that this song came out almost 10 years ago! “I’ve got a clean slate in five states, and twenty-nine that ain’t so great.” Hopefully with BigRoad your record is a little better!
4. Buy Me a Boat – Chris Janson
Chris Janson has written a lot of songs performed by some of best artists in country including Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, and Lee Brice. This feel good song, Buy Me a Boat, has brought him into the spotlight. “Money can’t buy happiness…but it can buy me a boat, it can buy me a truck to pull it with.” I’m sure a lot of us can relate!
5. Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck – Kip Moore
Another popular songs from a few years back – “There’s something’ ’bout a truck!”
6. Life is a Highway – Tom Cochran
This Canadian classic from Tom Cochran is an anthem for life on the road. It’s been covered by a number of artists including Rascal Flatts.
7. East Bound and Down – Jerry Reed
No trucking music playlist is complete without this track! “East bound and down, load it up and truck it. We gonna do what they say can’t be done.”
8. Convoy – C.W. McCool
Another classic song about trucking – Convoy! “Ah, breaker one-nine. This here’s the Rubber Duck. You got a copy on me, Pig Pen?”
9. Turn the Page – Bob Segar
Not every song about trucking is happy-go-lucky. Bob Segar brought light to harder side of trucking – the lonliness. This classic has been covered by a number of people including Metallica.
10. Big Ol’ Truck – Toby Keith
Going back to 2009, we’ve got Toby Keith with a shoutout to female drivers. “Yeah I’m in love with the girl in the four-wheel drive”.
