It’s been a while since our last round-up of new features in BigRoad. Since then we’ve added a number of updates that you may not have had the pleasure of experiencing. Read on to find out what’s new with BigRoad.
DashLink users now have ability to allow yard moves. This feature must be enabled from the web app. To use yard move, go to the ‘Fleet’ tab, press the ‘Edit’ button in the top right and at the bottom of the page you can select ‘Allow Yard Moves’ to enable this feature. In addition, all drivers must be running the latest version (4.0.16) of the Android app and can select yard moves from the duty status control once enabled.
With yard moves enabled, this gives drivers the option to occasionally drive short distances without changing duty status to ‘Driving’. Please note that the FMCSA does not officially allow for any special handling of yard moves by an automatic on-board recording device (AOBRD) like DashLink. By enabling yard moves for your drivers, you are configuring the amount of detected motion required before driving duty status is recorded. If using this feature, you are obligated to ensure your drivers maintain compliance.
We have made a number of updates to ensure all log editing features in the web app are a much smoother experience.
Many are small changes that enhance the performance of the web app but we’ve also added some new features you should know about.

Updates to the Android App
We have a few new features in the Android app, so make sure you have the latest version (4.0.16) installed for best performance.
Refinements to the log signing/sending workflow have been made. This includes streamlining the log signing process.
Beyond the DashLink yard move feature mentioned above, there have been several improvements to the reliability and consistency of engine motion detection. This improves the accuracy of driving detection and reduces the potential for sensor failures.
