North American Inspectors Championship Event Recap

BigRoad was recently in Orlando, Florida for the 25^th Annual North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC)! This annual event recognizes and awards commercial motor vehicle (CMV) inspector excellence. Here’s a recap of what took place this year.

North American Inspectors Championship

During the four day event, attendees visited educational seminars, received training on the latest technology and safety information, and competed in the Inspectors Championship. Contestants were evaluated in six different categories:

1. North American Standard Level I Inspection
2. North American Standard Level I Inspection Procedures
3. North American Standard Hazmat/Dangerous Goods Inspection
4. North American Standard Cargo Tank/Other Bulk Packagings Inspection
5. North American Standard Level V Passenger Carrier Vehicle (Motorcoach) Inspection
6. North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria Exam
   

This year there was also a special two-day electronic logging device (ELD) event that took place. During this showcase, ELD providers were able to present their products and services to attendees to give insight into how they work, how they differ from traditional compliance solutions, and what they can expect at the roadside. This is where BigRoad came in!

Two-Day ELD Showcase Event

It is very important for the BigRoad team to attend CVSA events. This gives us the opportunity to connect with the inspectors and enforcement officials face-to-face.

“Having a great relationship with enforcement officials and agencies (FMCSA, CVSA, and DOT) is really important to BigRoad,” said Alicia Bedard, Director of Marketing at BigRoad. “It allows us to understand how they work, their questions, concerns, and ensure that BigRoad users are always running in compliance with rules and regulations, putting your safety and compliance first.”

We brought down our brand new BigRoad booth to the event – manned for two days by Colin Lumb (pictured) from our sales team and Alicia Bedard.

Many officials, owner-operators, and fleets stopped by the BigRoad booth for a live demo and to learn more about BigRoad’s ELD mandate compliance solution.

It was two days well-spent down in Orlando, Florida! We’d like to thank everyone who came out to say hello! The next stop for the BigRoad team is the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas, Texas at booth #4037 from August 24^th-26^th.
